In the protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), violent attitude was also taken in many places in Uttar Pradesh, in which about 15 people have also died in the state. It may be noted that there was a protest in Lucknow on 19 December regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). During this period, protesters set fire to several vehicles, including a police car. Police also used lathicharge and tear gas to control the crowd. During the protest in Lucknow, a person named Advocate died from a police bullet.The deceased was a resident of Hussainganj in Old Lucknow. Apart from this, the police arrested a large number of protesters, including many social workers. In such a situation, Priyanka can meet the family of the victim. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is taking a tough stand regarding CAA and NRC.On 22 December, Priyanka Gandhi went to Nhataur in Bijnor to meet the families of those killed during the CAA and NRC protests.

The protest in Nahtaur was met by the relatives of Anas and Suleman, who were killed in the violence. He also met the family of the injured Omraj Saini. Priyanka consoled the family and assured all possible help. During this, he called the CAA against public interest and said that the government is not allowed to demand the proof of Indianness from any citizen of the country. After Bijnor, on Tuesday, Priyanka Gandhi also reached Meerut to meet the violence victims. This time he was accompanied by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. However, the police had returned them from Meerut bypass before meeting the victims. After this, Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi spoke to the families of those killed in the violence on the phone and assured them that they are with them. Priyanka had said that we were going to meet the families of the violence, but in Meerut citing Section 144, the police did not let go and we were prevented from meeting the victims. We do not want any confrontation, due to which we are returning. Priyanka had also taken a dig at law and order and said that people are being forced into the fire of the Citizenship Amendment Act. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi continued to surround the Yogi government on the issues of law and order, safety of women and farmers.
