ISRO has asked for a total budget of Rs 666 crore during 2019-2020, out of which more than 11 percent has been sought for Chandrayaan-3 only. Out of 666 crores, 8.6 crores have been sought for the development of 2022 proposed human spaceflight program, 120 million small satellite launch vehicles and 120 crore launchpad. The highest demand has been for UR Rao Satellite Center and Satish Dhawan Space Center. Rs 516 crore has been demanded for both. Explain that earlier ISRO had worked on Chandrayaan and Chandrayaan-2 missions. While only one orbiter was sent to the moon in Chandrayaan, lander and rover were also sent along with the orbiter in Chandrayaan-2. ISRO’s mission was to land the lander on the lunar surface, but this part of that mission could not succeed due to crash landing. However, the orbiter is circling the moon’s orbit and doing its job properly.
