Exact location of the lander ‘Vikram’ is yet to be ascertained: NASA

The US space agency NASA said on the Chandrayaan-2 lander that the exact location of ‘Vikram’ is yet to be ascertained. A recent statement released by NASA said that they did not find any trace of Chandrayaan-2 lander in the latest photos from the orbiter. NASA said that at the time our orbiter took the photo, the lander may have been hidden in a shadow. Explain that Chandrayaan-2 lost contact with ISRO during a soft landing on the moon. NASA project scientist Noh Edward said that our orbiter had taken a photo of the Chandramayan-2’s Vikram landing site on October 14, but we could not find any photos from which the Vikram lander could be seen.

It is innocent that before this, NASA had made a big disclosure about Chandrayaan-2 lander. NASA said the exact location of Chandrayaan-2 lander ‘Vikram’ is yet to be ascertained. NASA also said in a statement released a few days ago that Vikram’s hard landing took place on the moon, but the exact location of this spacecraft on the lunar ground is yet to be ascertained. When the pictures of its landing area came, the weather was foggy at that time and now NASA will make another attempt to locate this lander, for this NASA will wait for the appropriate light to come in October. NASA’s statement was based on pictures taken by its Lunar Reconciliation Orbiter Camera (LROC) where Vikram was targeted to land on the moon.

Vikram Lander: Beats increasing ISRO scientist is also apprehensive

According to NASA, Vikram attempted to land on the south pole of the moon between Simpilius N and Menzanis C caters. This was India’s first attempt to make a soft landing on the moon. The US agency said that Vikram’s intended landing site was located about 600 kilometers from the South Pole. NASA said that NASA made a small effort to locate this place. Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter or LRO (a robot spacecraft of NASA) passed through this landing site on 17 September and also took some high resolution photos here although till now the LROC team has not been able to locate the lander around here.

NASA further said that when the pictures of that landing area were taken, the weather was foggy and due to this there were many big ridges in that area, then it is possible that Vikram Lander would be one of those shadows ). When the LRO passes here again in October, due to the proper lighting, this work can help and it will be another attempt to take pictures of the lander and locate it.
