It features DTH Set-Top Box Integration to switch between DTH TV Channels and OTT applications from the home screen. The OS supports a range of applications such as Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar and YouTube along with over 5,000 applications from Fire OS Store, as per the listing. The company is also planning to launch a 43-inch 4K TV in India with similar specs in addition to a 43-inch 1080p TV and a 32-inch 720p TV running on the Fire TV OS.

The AmazonBasics TV range will compete with smart televisions under similar price range from brands such as Xiaomi, TCL, and Vu among others.

Apple has Started Working on New Foldable Smart Phones

We remember smart phones that were too big when initially the very concept of mobile phones had arrived. He also shared a concept image of the folding iPhone, which shows that the rumoured iPhone may have a flip-like design. This future device of Apple has reportedly passed the tests for durability. Two different prototypes were tested at the Foxconn factory in Shenzhen of which one is a dual-screen model prototype, as per the report, and the other a clamshell foldable that is similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip or Motorola Razr.  As per a report by a Taiwanese publication Money, the two prototype phones passed the internal tests for durability at the Foxconn factory and Apple’s second prototype, the clamshell model, may use a flexible Samsung OLED display.

Apple will evaluate the most likely model to launch and abandon the other, stated the report.

The Apple-Facebook Controversy Concerning New Privacy Policy by Apple!

In a very recent news Facebook has removed the bluetick mark of Apple from its platform after getting into controversy with the company given certain privacy related change introduced by Apple. Thus, the bluetick mark is a ‘verified’ badge given in order to be recognized as genuine, original and official for any given page or channel. The badges of bluetick mark, for example is used by platforms like Instagram, Facebook like social media platforms. Apple isn’t generally seen very active on social media and it has even disabled comment options on its official YouTube channel.

Although they have presence both on Facebook and Twitter, they do not post any content apart from their logo, videos and cover photos.

Users should know when their data is being collected and shared across other apps and websites and they should have the choice to allow that or not. Application Tracking Transparency in iOS 14 does not require Facebook to change its approach to tracking users and creating targeted advertising, it simply requires they give users a choice.”

The New Instagram Lite Is Launched in India

According to the latest news, Instagram has announced about the launch of the test of a new version of Instagram Lite, and the second edition of the ‘Born on Instagram’ creator programme in India which will consume less data and be more user friendly. The Facebook-owned social media platform is extending the test of Instagram Lite to people in India. This is a new application that is less than 2MB in size and is built to deliver a fast and consistent experience to users. According to the company, “Early this year there was research conducted in India, to ascertain the attractiveness and comprehension of new products, and one barrier that was observed was the compromised Internet experience, as a result of low memory phones and heavy-sized applications. This set the context for the test of Instagram Lite, and India is a primarily test country for it.” Mr. Shah said during his keynote at the Facebook Fuel for India event that, “Today, we’re announcing the test of IG Lite in India,”

“It was built to provide access to high-quality Instagram experience to our users in India, irrespective of the device, platform, and the network that they are on.”

The Instagram Lite application is made for Android and this new version has improved, fast pace performance ability and quick responsiveness, Instagram said.  Although Instagram Lite has a similar core experience to the original application, it is currently not supporting features such as Reels, Shopping and IGTV.  The application will be available in languages of Bangla, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. When the team set out to design the structures and buildings, they looked to ancient Greece. “In Western culture, we’re taught that that’s the seat of civilization and philosophy,” Docter said. “But then we realized pretty quickly, ‘Well, we don’t want this to seem rooted in any particular culture because we’re saying everybody came from the same place.”

“We looked up research on Elysian fields, which had Greek temples and structures,” Pilcher said.

“But the problem with that was it felt too specific and also everybody does that. We wanted something more universally friendly and something a little bit fresher.” They wound up seeking inspiration from the architecture of World Fairs spanning the 1930s through the 1960s.

“It seemed like a lot of the architecture was meant to inspire, to create a sense of awe and importance,” Docter said.

Additionally, the designers had the challenge to keep it playful and not spooky as it is the concept of beyond life and the living.  In fact, making sure the souls didn’t look like ghosts was of major concern for the design team. “The color palette was really one of the toughest things because if you make them all bluish, or just gray, they just look like ghosts. And if you make them all white, they’re going to look like ghosts too and then you can even bring in the sociocultural association of skin color, which we wanted to avoid. But if you take warm spectral light, like light through a prism, and shine it through a soft little form, you’ll get warm lights going through one side and blues and violets where they exit. We actually had to develop technology, which we called the ethereal helmet, [to accomplish it].”
