Asia’s largest onion market reaches 4-year high, onion prices

Efforts by the government to keep the price of onion under control this June are proving to be a failure as the onion started making the common people cry. The wholesale price of onion has reached Rs 50 per kg in Azadpur mandi in the capital Delhi, which is the highest level since 2015. At the same time, in Lasalgaon, Maharashtra’s largest onion market, onion has started selling at Rs 50 per kg. Traders said that onion stock in the country is very low, due to which the arrival in the mandis is decreasing.

Onion prices are rising due to less inward consumption. Rajendra Sharma, a businessman and president of the Onion Merchant Association, Azadpur Mandi, said that due to heavy rains in the states of South India, onion crop is getting worse and there is a delay in the preparation of new crop, onion prices are getting more support. . Sharma said that earlier in 2015, onion prices had gone above Rs 50 a kg. To keep the price of onion under control, the government last week set its minimum export price (MEP) at $ 850 per tonne so that the ban on exports does not reduce the supply of onions in the country’s markets.

Asia's largest onion market reaches 4-year high, onion prices

According to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) notification dated 13 September, exports of onions at a price below $ 850 per ton (FOB) will not be allowed until further orders are arrived in this regard. An onion exporter from Nashik said that there is currently no scope for export at such a high price. At the same time, the price in the domestic market has also increased significantly, so there will be no margin in exports. Earlier in June, when the price of onion had increased, at the same time, the government had withdrawn 10% incentive on onion under the Merchandise Export from India Scheme i.e. MEIS, to put a brake on exports. Onions are being sold in the open market from the buffer stock lying with the government agency NAFED, but all these steps of the government are proving to be a failure in controlling the price of onion as the price of onion has increased twice in the last two months. . According to the price list available on the APMC website, onion price in Delhi was Rs 22.50-50 per kg on Friday, compared to Rs 20-40 per kg a day earlier. Thus, onion prices in Delhi increased by 25 percent on Friday.

In the same Mandsaur, a few months ago, Prahlad Bandhwar, BJP’s municipal president, was killed. In the coming times, Madhya Pradesh, which is called the island of peace, will turn into a stronghold of criminal incidents. Therefore, the Governor should direct the State Government to follow its religion. Bharatiya Janata Party state president and MP Rakesh Singh said this to the Governor on Thursday after giving a memorandum against the deteriorating law and order.

A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Rakesh Singh on Thursday submitted a memorandum to Governor Lalji Tandon regarding the law and order situation in the state and demanded that the state government be directed in this regard. Deadline for changed limits for political gains

Rakesh Singh said that the government’s change in the electoral system of the mayor and the chairman of the civic body is proof that the Kamal Nath government is not confident of what he has done, he is afraid that the public will reject him. Rakesh Singh termed delimitation deadline as unfortunate, saying that not only Bhopal but the entire state government in Madhya Pradesh wants to kill democracy. The government’s intention behind the delimitation is to take political advantage rather than population and geographical conditions. The BJP delegation will again meet the Governor to protest against this undemocratic and impractical move of the government.

Pakistan will charge a fee for Kartarpur Sahib

Rakesh Singh said that the Bharatiya Janata Party will protest against the proposal to create two municipal corporations in Bhopal, including Bhopal, at various places throughout Madhya Pradesh. He informed that Bharatiya Janata Party will conduct a signature campaign from October 18 to 20 after discussing this decision of the government with people from various social sectors of Bhopal. Counsel for the accused said, curative petition will be filed

A major hurdle came to an end on Wednesday between Nirbhaya’s convicts and the hanging noose. A review petition filed by 2012 Delhi c Akshay Kumar Singh will be heard by the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The request will be heard at 2 pm in an open court. One of the four men convicted in the gang-rape, torture and killing of a young girl in Delhi seven years ago, Akshay Singh had filed a petition in the top court this week to appeal against his death sentence.

While the act of filing a last-minute review petition – the four are expected to be hanged soon – is not unusual, the petition made some rather bizarre claims, including citing Hindu religious texts and the Delhi pollution crisis as reasons why the death sentence should not be carried out. In a 14-page Criminal Review Petition, filed by advocates on his behalf, Akshay Singh said: “Why death penalty when age is reducing… it is mentioned in our Ved, Purans and Upanishads that… people lived the life of thousand years… now it is Kalyug, in this era, age of human beings have reduced much. It has now come to 50-60 years… this is almost a true analysis… when a person faces stark realities of life, then he is no better than a dead body”.

The petition went on to say the air quality in the National Capital Region was “burst and like a gas chamber” and that the poor quality of drinking water – “full of poison”. “Life is going short to short, then why death penalty?” the petition asked. Finally, the petition quoted Mahatma Gandhi’s famous advice to people faced with a difficult question – “Recall the face of the poorest and most helpless man…”. Akshay Singh filed his review petition less than a week after the Delhi government and the centre rejected a mercy request by Vinay Sharma, another of the rapists. The courts have already rejected petitions from Vinay Kumar, Mukesh Singh and Pawan Gupta. Once the relevant legal appeals are exhausted all four will be hanged at Delhi’s Tihar Jail, where preparations are already being made.

In December 2012, Akshay Singh and five others, including a juvenile male, gang-raped and tortured a 23-year-old paramedic student inside a moving bus in south Delhi. She was violated with an iron rod when she protested. Her friend was beaten severely and both were thrown out of the bus at a secluded spot; the young girl was naked and bleeding. The woman, who came to be known as Nirbhaya or “fearless”, died 13 days after the assault, leaving the nation shocked and angry.
