The people around the country have begun to celebrate as Rajinikanth’s Kaala was out in theatres on 8th of June. Rajini’s fans eagerly waited for this film as he is again with his Kabali director Pa Ranjith. Kabali was a successful movie worldwide and hence showtimes for the film started as early as 3 AM in the morning. Kaala has shown an under-response than expected at the box office. It is one of the lowest-recorded openings in recent times for a film starring Rajinikanth. This may be due to some of the factors like few postpones in release date, Ramzan week. And the week before EID which is lowest for business, as next Friday the big film of Salman Khan releases.
Rajnikanth is still a huge craze for his fans as the character Chitti of Robot. Also, his last few films have not done well. The promos of the movie Kaala have not made connect with Hindi fans. It looks like an old age film of 1990’s. But we hope they have some good story in the movie which may be liked and the film does well. The first-day box office collection of Kaala set the record for the lowest-ever box office opening for a Rajinikanth film. However, the film seems to have picked up speed on its second day worldwide. According to reports, the film has touched 1 million-mark in the US and has collected about Rs 6.7 crore in the country.
The film has earned about Rs.10 crore in Karnataka, in spite of facing few bans before, due to Rajinikanth’s views on the Cauvery water dispute. But now the film is running successfully in the state and also other parts of the country. On its second day, according to estimates, Kaala has approximately collected Rs 1.44 crore. Though Kaala has done fewer promotions as compared to other Rajini’s films, it has still made an impact on the audience and fans. Even before its release in terms of broadcast rights and music rights, Kaala earned about Rs 200 crore,
